55th BSA Elk Antler Auction
  Live on the Town Square

Elkfest and the 55th Annual BSA Elk Antler Auction will be held on the Town Square this year. The event will return to its traditional live event on the Town Square: located at the intersection of Center and Deloney Streets.

Proceeds from the Antler Auction benefit the Headwaters District Boy Scouts of America and the National Elk Refuge.

Viewing, registration and auction information may be found on the Auction page.

Big Bull Beetle-Cleaned Skull: An Auction Highlight

A major draw for the 2022 auction will be "Big Bull". The beetle-cleaned skull with antlers will be a highlight of the auction.

"Big Bull" has one of the biggest racks of any bull scored by Boone & Crocket in the state of Wyoming. After he died on the National Elk Refuge three years ago, his skull was beetle cleaned by Skinner Skull Shop. We encourage you to view and bid on this unique skull.

Locked in Death Antlers: A Rare Auction Highlight

This year a unique antler set - two bull elk skulls with locked antlers - is included in the auction. A locked set of two antler is a rare find. The skulls with locked antlers are beetle-cleaned. One can imagine the smaller elk breaking a tine as he battled his larger opponent. In the end, both bulls lost the fight with their antlers forever locked together in death. The locked set is a first for the BSA Elk Antler Auction.
